Port Canaveral Fishing Charter

Port Canaveral is one of the largest Ports on the east coast of Florida.  There is a newly renovated mega ramp with a dozen boat launches and very nice facilities.  Booking your Port Canaveral fishing charter will lead you out into the Atlantic ocean in hopes of catching the next monster.  There are numerous species of fish Captain Travis Tanner targets when he guides out of Port Canaveral.  The main species that will be targeted are Kingfish, Cobia, Tripletail, Redfish, Snook and Tarpon.   It is common to catch Amberjacks, African Pompano, Red Snapper, Grouper and even an occasional Permit.  The fishing can be good out of the Port year round.  Generally Tarpon are targeted in the summer, Kingfish year round, Snook year round, Triple Tail in the winter, Redfish in the Fall and Cobia in the Spring.  As you can see fishing off the coast of Cape Canaveral can be very productive year round.  Captain Travis employs the use of a 22′ center console boat that has been recently completely refinished.   Schools of bull Redfish can be found near Port Canaveral and make for an awesome trip.  During the summer migration Tarpon show up in the thousands heading north along the beaches.  Catching 100 lb plus Tarpon is a common occurrence in the summers here along the Port Canaveral coastline.  Cobia can show up any day and are extremely fun to sight cast if you’re lucky enough to run into one on your charter.   Fly fishermen can get shots at Tripletail holding on debris and buoys.  Sight fishing is usually the preferred / most fun method of fishing Captain Travis use when he fishes out of the Port.  Trolling baits for Kingfish aka smokers can be very productive and many days they are caught by the dozens.  Captain Travis has spent 25 years fishing out of Port Canaveral Florida.  He has commercial fished the area for many years adding to his experience .  He has been featured on tv shows and been in many tournaments out of Port Canaveral-see tv episode below.
